11.18.2011 - 1MT, ECC, SPACE CADET!
Hello! Some quick updates for you:
The NFB's digital documentary One Millionth Tower has officially launched! It was featured in WIRED online this month and has been gathering buzz as a new web documentary powered entirely by WebGL, HTML 5 and other open source technologies. With a team involving the NFB, Helios Design Labs, ERA Architects, and us the animators (Howie Shia, Kelly Sommerfeld, and myself), not to mention the participation of the Kipling Tower residents, this project was a huge collaborative effort and that i'm happy to have been a part of. Congratulations to director Kat Cizek for getting it out there!

On another note, this summer i had the privilege of working on an animated video for Ethical Coffee Chain, a coffee co-op with a unique business model. As an avid coffee drinker, i was already intrigued with the business of bean trading, but what blew me away the most was the passion and intensity that ECC Teammates Jessica Duarte and Madison Matthews had for their little start-up -- ECC creates a whole new way to buy coffee, one which is fair and equitable for all those involved...and did i mention the coffee tastes great too? Last, but certainly not least, if you happen to be in Berlin Dec 16th, may i recommend checking out Kid Koala's Space Cadet headphone concert? I've animated a few scenes from his beautiful new graphic novel, but I guarantee the entire show will be a delight. More info here.
